About Us

E. Spence Horsley was born in Malad, Idaho. He grew up in Downey, Idaho, where he helped his father, Raymond Horsley, operate Downata Hot Springs. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1964. Spence later married Debbie Field Horsley; they have 6 children and 23 grandchildren. Horsley Funeral Home began in Malad in 1978, when Spence bought Benson Funeral Home from Raiford Benson. In 1979, he built the Marsh Valley Funeral Home to serve the families he grew up with. Brad Horsley, Spence's youngest son, lives in Malad with his wife and 3 children and is a funeral director along with his father. They love the families they serve and feel it a honor to care for their loved ones.
