WAYNE TILLEY

MALAD--Wayne Sylvester Tilley, 67, of Malad, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 20, 2010, in his home with his family after a short battle with colon cancer.
Wayne was born August 14, 1942 in Boone, Iowa to Robert Sylvester Tilley and Alice Lavengie Earll. He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a Microbiology Technician for the United States Department of Agriculture in the National Veterinary Services Laboratories for 32 years.
Wayne married Gail Daube on March 19, 1966 in Denver, and was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they had four children, which they raised in Boone, Iowa for 26 years. They moved to Malad, Idaho in 1997 and Wayne served as Oneida County Water Master during his retirement.
Wayne served as a bishop and high council member and was a faithful member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. He loved being around family, friends, having a good laugh, a nice slice of black raspberry pie, hunting, fishing and sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Utah Jazz.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Sylvester Tilley, and his wife Gail Bernadette Daube Tilley. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Velma Hutty Tilley, whom he married November 28, 2009 in the Salt Lake Temple, and whom cared for Wayne throughout his battle with cancer; his four children: Brenda Chihi (Mourad), Travis (Mindy), Jared (Cyndalyn), and Eldon (Shyla); Stepchildren: Natalie Jeffries(Loren) and Lauren Manning (Ammon); 19 grandchildren; brother, Robert Tilley; sisters: Jean Wadsworth, Judy Shadle, Lorraine Post, and Rosemary Loosli.

A viewing will be held Friday July 23, 2010 from 6-8PM at Horsley Funeral Home 132 W 300 North and again on Saturday July 24, 2010 from 9:30-10:30AM. Funeral services will be held July 24, 2010 at 11:AM at the Malad 3rd Ward building located on 100 W. 400 N. with graveside service to follow.
Military Rites will be presented by The American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post #65
