Ruth Ann Greenwood Felter

Ruth Ann Greenwood Felter, 89, of Malad City, Idaho, passed away on September 26, 2026. She had been a resident of Malad City for the past 15 years.

Ruth Ann was born on July 3, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, to Virgil R. Greenwood and Lucy Pearl McMills Greenwood. She was raised and educated in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1955.

On August 18, 1955, Ruth Ann married Leslie L. Felter in Ogden, Utah. Together, they lived in several different areas of Utah while raising their family. Their love and commitment to one another continued throughout their lives. On August 18, 1967, Ruth Ann and Leslie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple, surrounded by their five children.

Ruth Ann lived a life centered around family, faith, service, and helping others. She worked for D.D.O., Sierra Lingerie, and Hill Air Force Base. Following her retirement, she continued working at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind in Ogden, where she served as an interpreter for many students. She also worked for the Internal Revenue Service and served as an interpreter for many individuals throughout the state of Utah.

Her dedication and accomplishments were recognized throughout her years of service, and she received numerous certificates and plaques honoring the work she had done and the people she had helped.

Ruth Ann was the eldest of nine children, and from an early age she held a special place in her family. She became a mother figure to many of her younger siblings and was someone they could look to for love, guidance, and support. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations that follow her.

Ruth Ann is survived by her daughters, Debbie L. Hindes of Ogden, Utah; Dixie L. Glover (Jim) of Malad City, Idaho; Patricia A. Josephson (Dave) of South Ogden, Utah; and Leslie J. Baldwin of Grand Junction, Colorado.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Linda Pepcorn of Nampa, Idaho; Jean Thomas (Lee) of Thistle, Utah; Paul Greenwood (Jill) of Harrisville, Utah; and Timothy Greenwood (Jill) of Jordan, Utah.

She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and the lessons she shared with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil R. Greenwood and Lucy Pearl McMills Greenwood; her husband, Leslie L. Felter; her daughter, Tamara Kae Skeen; her son-in-law, Michael W. Skeen; her sons-in-law, Kim H. Dabel and Jerry O. Baldwin; and her siblings, John Greenwood, Virgil Greenwood, Daniel Greenwood, and Virginia Chambers, along with Virginia's husband, Charles Chambers.

Ruth Ann's life was one of faith, family, hard work, and service. She gave of herself generously to those around her and found purpose in helping others. The example she set and the love she shared will remain a lasting part of the lives of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

Funeral Services will held Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the 3rd Ward LDS Chapel at 400 North 200 West, Malad. Idaho . Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. and again prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m. at 100 Monroe Blvd in Ogden, Utah.
