Robert LesLie Jones
August 18th 1929-March 15th 2016

Robert LesLie Jones, 86, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on March 15th, 2016 of natural causes. Robert (Bob) was born in West Jordan, Utah on August 18th 1929. He met the love of his life and his best friend Doreen Davis at a dance on a blind date in Salt Lake City. They were married on September 24th, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bob was raised and worked on the farm with his dad from an early age. Farming was his passion. Every fall as the farm year came to an end he worked at the sugar factory which he also enjoyed. In the fall of 1968 they bought another farm in Downey, Idaho. Downey became their permanent home one year later. They enjoyed the small town life. Bob sold the farm in 1980. Afterwards they enjoyed homes in Holiday and Draper, Utah, Star Valley, Wyoming, Preston and Pocatello, Idaho before ending up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents LesLie and Edith Jones and his sister Beverly (Julian) Forman. He is survived by his wife Doreen Jones; sister Mae (Deon) Bateman; children Connie (Grant) Johnson, Terry (Michelle) Jones, and Leslie (Tim) Weis, eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. A big thanks to the staff of Morning Star Assisted Living Center, Alliance Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Downey LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 12-1:45p.m. Burial will follow in the Downey City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.horsleyfuneralhome.com
