Obituary

Stone, Idaho....In the early morning hours of July 21, 2013, Randy Skidmore passed away peacefully in his sleep from complications resulting from type I Diabetes. Randy was born on May 27, 1969 in Malad, Idaho to Ron and Renelle Skidmore. He was the fourth of five children. He attended elementary school in Stone and graduated from Malad High school. He attended Arizona Automotive Institute in Glendale, AZ and graduated with honors in both the automotive and diesel programs.
He loved sports. Football and wrestling were his favorite sports while in high school. His senior year, he placed 4th in the state 2A wrestling championship and he and his teammates played for the 2A state football championship. His love of football stayed strong and you could find him watching college football on Saturdays and then cheering for "his" Chicago Bears every Sunday. ESPN was his favorite TV station.
He worked at Autoliv for about 10 years but in 2003 left to farm full-time. He loved farming and was a perfectionist. His dedication and work ethic were unstoppable and his farm and cows were his life. His faithful companion, an Australian Sheppard named Spook, spent many hours riding with him on the motorcycle to go change the water, or in the front seat of the truck to check the cows, or in the tractor to bale the hay. He couldn't leave the house without Spook.
His friends and neighbors would describe him as the most active, hard-working person they have ever met. His family will miss his gruff voice but very tender heart.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Renelle Skidmore of Stone, ID; his siblings Ron Dell (Diane) of Stone, ID; Tammy (Brad) Hoskins of Tremonton, UT; Val (Janette) of Snowville, UT; and Rhonda (Tod) Daniels of Malad. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
In his memory and to honor him, dedicate one day of hard work to him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 12 noon in the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel in Snowville, Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho and again on Friday morning at the church from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
