South Jordan—Ralene Moon Nielsen, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She was born October 19, 1927, in Cherry Creek, Idaho, youngest child of Verl and Rachel Moon. She lived there until she married Charles James Nielsen on April 8, 1949, in the Logan temple.

Her life was devoted to her husband of 63 years and her beloved family. She was an active member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings. She and her husband served several missions for the church including 9 years at the family history center.

Survived by her children Charlene Campbell, Darhl (Joanne), DeeRay (Julie), Sharon Dunn (Brian), Scott (Connie), Jedd (Jana), 32 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and brother Verlin Moon. Preceded in death by husband, Charles, son, Cleon, sisters Syd Morris, Tessie Moon, Helen Buhrley, Evelyn Beck, and Celia Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Country Park 3rd Ward LDS Chapel—1988 11400 South, South Jordan, Utah. Viewing Sunday, 6:30-8:00 pm at same church and 9:30-10:45 on Monday prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Horsley Funeral Home.
