Malad, Idaho - Murlene Elaine Smith age 69, passed away September 26, 2015. She was born June 24, 1946, in Cheyenne, WY to Emily and Doc Reeves. She was married to Sheldon Smith, March 29, 2014 & was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
She was very active in the LDS church. Serving as Relief Society President and Primary Presidents were some of her favorite callings. She loved the many members that she met along her life between Oakley to St. George to Malad. Mom enjoyed making many crafts and attending any activity that her grandchildren were involved in. She traveled to many places such as Hawaii, Branson, Texas, Cheyenne Frontier days, and many other places with her family and friends. She was the most loving and doting mother anyone could ask for and will be missed so dearly, but we know that in time we'll be with her again.
She was blessed with 4 children, 11 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren, 4 step children, and 12 step grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.
She is survived by her husband Sheldon J Smith (Malad), children Mike Mitchell (Gloria) of Bountiful, UT, Allen Mitchell (Tricia) of Heber, UT, Chara Adams (Casey) of Enterprise, UT, Aimee Mazur of Cedar, UT. Siblings: Kathryn Toole (Marvin), Howard Henry (Debbie), John Tarbuck (Lola), Erica Tarbuck (Ginger).
She was preceded in death by a son Douglas Mitchell, and her parents
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 12 noon in the Malad 2nd Ward Chapel 20 th S.100 W. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pleasantview Cemetery.
