Pocatello Idaho, … Merlin A. Balzer, 44 resident of Pocatello Idaho passed away suddenly on Wednesday May 11, 2022. Merlin was born on October 23, 1977 in Malad, Idaho, son of Teresa Colton and Ricky Jones, adopted and raised by Mark Allen Balzer Sr. in 1991. He was raised in Maryland and Idaho and graduated from Malad High School class of 1995. He served an LDS mission to Manila, Philippines. He was married and then divorced to Dolly Mathew they had no children. He is survived by his parents Mark and Teresa Balzer, Brother Justin Balzer (Adrian), Sister Melissa Otto (David Wellnitz), Sister Jessica Reno, Brother Mark Balzer Jr. (Rayelle), Brother Hyrum Balzer (Maite), Grandmothers Mary Ann Lombardozzi of Middletown Delaware and Judy Jones of Malad Idaho. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Joyce Colton, Grandfathers Charles C. Balzer Jr. and George Jones. A viewing will be held in his honor on Monday May 16, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Fairway Chapel 2000 S. Fairway Drive in Pocatello Idaho from 7-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2022 at the same location at 11:00 am. Friends and family can call at the chapel from 9:30 -10:45 prior to the funeral services at the chapel. Burial will follow at the Malad Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
