Obituary

Lesli Ann Wray, 59, of Malad City, Idaho, went home to her Heavenly Father on June 25, 2026, at Providence Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California. In her last earthly moments, she was miraculously surrounded by her loving and devoted husband and children.

Lesli was born on April 4, 1967, in Rexburg, Idaho, to John and Charyl Price. The family resided in several communities throughout Southeast Idaho before settling in the Snake River area. She graduated from Snake River High School. It was here that she met and started dating the love of her life, Matthew Wray. After graduating, she went to Connecticut as a nanny. Upon Matt's return from his mission, they were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 16, 1987.

Matt and Lesli started their adventurous life together on a ranch in Montana. They then moved to California, where they welcomed their first daughter, Katelynn. They then moved to Pocatello, Idaho, for Matt to attend ISU. While in Pocatello, they welcomed two more children, Joshua and Celest. After graduation, Matt and Lesli moved their family to Lyman, Wyoming, for Matt to begin his career. Lesli, who was quickly becoming a perfect homemaker, brought three more children into their family, Elizabeth, Robert, and Willard. Matt and Lesli went on many adventures with their young family, creating fond memories. After 11 years in Wyoming, they had the opportunity to move their family closer to their extended families in Idaho. They moved to Malad City, Idaho, where they welcomed two more sons, Benjamin and Hunter. They built their family home in Malad at the mouth of New Canyon. Lesli transformed the home and land into a beautiful haven. Her magnificent garden was a sacred place, and the hard work she put into it blessed the lives of her family and neighbors. While in Malad, Lesli's talents earned her Homemaker of the Year at the county fair. After 21 years, they sold their home to buy more property just down the road, with plans to build their dream home. While figuring out plans, Matt had a career opportunity that would take them either to Alaska or California. While Matt preferred Alaska, Lesli preferred California. So to California they went. She loved living there, and while she missed her family, she thrived in the sunshine and on the beach.

Anywhere she lived, Lesli made many wonderful friends. She was a light in the lives of many as she served others diligently, especially her family.

Some of her talents include crocheting, canning, and painting. She worked hard to make her home beautiful, warm, full of love, and a safe place for all who came there. All friends would be greeted with fresh homemade bread and strawberry jam.

She gave her all in her many callings in the Church, teaching, serving, leading, and ministering. She graciously supported her husband as he served as bishop and stake president in Malad.

Above all, her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother to her 14 adoring grandchildren. She was her children's biggest cheerleader, faithfully supporting them at countless sporting events and celebrating every achievement, big and small. She spent many selfless hours giving her children a beautiful childhood, creating lasting memories camping and backpacking. She taught them the importance of integrity and hard work and instilled in them a love for family and the Savior. She had a beautiful testimony of the Gospel, eternal families, and her Savior's love. Among their eight children, six have served or are serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Of the seven who have been married, all have been sealed in temples.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her love and wisdom will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

Lesli is survived by her loving and dedicated spouse, Matthew Clark Wray; her children, Katelynn (Brice) Swope of Smithfield, UT; Joshua (Hannah) Wray of Malad City, ID; Celest (Dillon) Smith of Willard, UT; Elizabeth (Jason) Thomas of Rupert, ID; Robert (Elizabeth) Wray of Idaho Falls, ID; Willard (Tili) Wray of Rexburg, ID; Benjamin (Chloe) Wray of Malad City, ID; and Hunter Wray, serving in Peru; her grandchildren, Maddox, Sawyer, Eliora, Joseph, Raelynn, Scarlett, John, Kendrick, Grace, Mason, Theodore, Matthew, Alaina, and Josephine; her siblings, Kerri Wagner, Kristi Funk, Mindi Quayle, Kenny Price, David Price, and Jodi Stacey; her brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Lesli was preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Charyl Price; and her mother- and father-in-law, Robert and Gertrude Wray.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11 AM at the Malad Stake Center at 1250 1100 W, Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 7-9 PM and again prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will follow is the Moreland Cemetery.
