Kent Balis
Downey....Douglas Kent Balis, 27, of Downey, husband of Jamie Petersen Balis, passed away on March 2, 2010 at the Portneuf Medical Center, following a brief illness. Kent was born June 24, 1982 in Pocatello, Idaho a son of Roy Douglas and Lana Salvesen Balis. He grew up in Downey and was a graduate of Marsh Valley High School, class of 2000. Shortly after graduating, he began employment with his father at "Doug's Repair and Towing". Kent maaried his long time sweetheart, Jamie Petersen, on June 30, 2007. He and Jamie loved being together, sharing time outdoors and especially loved snowmobiling of which Kent was an expert. His friends were a very important part of his life. His wife and two boys Mickie and Roy, were the love of his life and meant everthing to him. Kent loved friday's, his dog, J.J., and especially working side by side with his dad. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Kent was someone who would do anything for anyone. He is survived by his wife, Jamie and two sons; Mickie and Roy, all of Downey. his parents, Doug and Lana of Downey; 2 sisters; Aurelia (Craig) Norris of Downey; Lyndsey (Joston) Cypriann of Jerome, Idaho; Grandparents; Fred and Shirley Balis of Downey; Shirley Salvesen of Downey; Father and mother in law; Don and Donna Petersen of Robin, Idaho; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his special friend; J.J. A celebration of Kents's life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 at the Downey Senior citizens Center, where freinds and famly are invited to come as you are, and share memories of Kent.
