Kathryn Williams (Katy), 68, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Boise, Idaho.

Kathryn was born on January 20, 1958, to Glen B. Williams and Helen Cina Thomas Williams in Malad City, Idaho. She was the youngest of four children and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was raised in Malad, attended school there and graduated from Malad High School. She graduated early and moved to Boise, Idaho to work as a page in the Idaho State Legislature. While living in Boise, Kathryn held several jobs including clerk at a dry cleaner, elementary playground supervisor, short order cook, owned a catering business, conducted medical research phone interviews, and supervised the computer center at the Idaho State Auditor’s Office.

During this time, she met Gerald (Jerry) George Sorensen and they were married on November 8, 1985 in Boise, ID. Kathryn and Jerry had two children, a daughter, Ceinwedd (Cina) Sorensen Martin and a son, Richard Glen Sorensen. Jerry and Kathryn were divorced in 2000. Kathryn had another son, Sage Silas Reiter.

Throughout her life Kathryn was a happy, social, fun-loving person. She was always smiling and glad to meet someone new. During heart valve surgery in 2014 Kathryn suffered some brain damage which resulted in a 12- year stay in a nursing home in Boise, Idaho. She still maintained a positive attitude and enjoyed pleasant relationships with other residents, visitors, and staff members.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Ceinwedd (Cina) Martin and her husband Mik of Secesh, Idaho; two sons, Richard Glen Sorensen of Boise, Idaho, Sage Silas Reiter of Boise, Idaho and three brothers Glen Vard (Linda) Williams of Boise, Idaho, Lon Thomas Williams of West Valley, Utah and Edward G. Williams of Malad, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a graveside memorial on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Malad City Cemetery. Friends are welcome.
