Dr. John M Stones
Downey...Dr. John M Stones, 85 of Downey, passed away July 5, 2011 from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. John was born in Downey, Idaho on February 17, 1926, a son of Melvin Housley and Florence Nellie Layton Stones. His childhood was spent in Marsh Valley where he graduated from Downey High School. During W.W. II he was a corpsman in the U.S. Navy, with a tour of duty aboard the USS Amphion. After his service, he graduated from Idaho State University and the University of Missouri at the Kansas City School of Dentistry. He practised general dentistry for 33 years in Boise. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Boyland Stones and four children; Kaye (Jeff) Osterkamp; Jon (Cissy); Kent (Michele); Mark (Lisa). 2 sisters; Velma Armstrong and Una Benson; a brother; Dr. Carl (Clea) Stones; his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
