JoDene Robinson Hollingshead, 71, departed this mortal plane and joined her Savior and family on the other side of the veil on June 28, 2026, in her family home in Downey. She fought a 10-year battle with cancer, defying medical odds, building memories, and leaving her legacy of grace and gratitude.

To many, JoDene was known as a gentle, gracious, well-read lady. To her family and close friends, she was witty, intelligent, strong-willed, empathetic, forgiving, and a beacon of faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved her family, learning, reading, championing her children's talents, music, dance, and supporting her children in sports. She leaves behind her family, friends, and lots and lots of books.

JoDene was born to Bette Jo Steele and Alfred Eugene Robinson on December 19, 1954, in Ely, Nevada. As the eldest child, she was a natural leader who loved her siblings, the gospel, and, from an early age, reading. In her youth, she experienced her parents remarrying and the blessing of a growing blended family.

Determined to forge her own path, she graduated early from Minico High School in Rupert, Idaho, in 1972. She lived and worked in Denver before moving to Provo, UT, to attend Brigham Young University from 1973-1975. A valiant daughter of her Heavenly Father, JoDene was committed to living and following Christ's example. Her stalwartness and faith were matched in her eternal soulmate, Neal Duke Hollingshead, whom she met at BYU and married for time and all eternity in the Provo temple on September 11, 1975.

Together, JoDene and Neal faced the trials and blessings of growing their large family, moving to small rural communities in southern Utah and southern Idaho. Life would see them raise their kids in Monroe, UT, Circleville, UT, Downey, ID, Boulder, UT, Milford, UT, and Dietrich, ID, before settling back in Downey, ID, in her home with a view of her beloved mountains. Along the way, her quiet openness and listening ear would build many deep friendships and provide solace to many friends.

In addition to her favorite role as a mother, JoDene found purpose in serving as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was called to minister and teach in many capacities: a Ward Missionary, in the Relief Society and Primary presidencies, and as a beloved Young Women leader. As her kids grew older, she found great joy in helping children learn in school and at church.

JoDene is survived by her loving husband, Neal; children Teneale Hollingshead, Rory (Julie) Hollingshead, Kiffin (Vianey) Hollingshead, Celestyn (Nathaniel) Lendor, Brielle (Stephen) Houghton, Marshall (Ron Burgett) Hollingshead, and Deja Ree (Dominique Harris) Hollingshead; grandchildren, Sydnee, Ashlyn, Joshua, Alexandria, Bella, Rhyus, Ava, Elena, Kaden, Gabe, Avalon, Jenasis, and Victoria; siblings Geri (Joel) Rogers, Jami (Tom) Tateoka; step-siblings Rex (Miriam) Corless, Lanny (Pam) Morrison, Ellen (Karl) Matlin; step-mother Donna Robinson; uncle Victor Robinson, aunts Shirlee McCarthy and Gwen Christensen; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Marieke; sister Teresa, brother Randall, step-sister Deana; mother Bette Steele Corless, father Alfred Eugene Robinson, step-father Ross Corless; and many cherished aunts and uncles.

JoDene will be remembered for her acts of service, unwavering faith, courage, and her ability to teach with gentleness.

The family would like to thank the medical care team of Portneuf Cancer Center, Dr Clark, Heritage Hospice, and the loving friends and family who supported her.
