Joan B. Edie, of Marysville, Cal., and formerly of San Jose, Cal., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 8 at The Fountains in Yuba City, Cal. She was born April 17, 1951, in Portland, Ore., the daughter of Byron S. Groesbeck and Myrtle (Barnes) Groesbeck. She married Winston Edie in 1972, in Oakland, Cal.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Whitehurst of Antioch, Cal.; daughter, Erin Petersen (Benjamin) of Marysville, Cal.; grandchildren, Andrew Petersen, Makayla Petersen, Tucker Petersen, Willow Petersen and Scarlet Petersen, of Marysville, Cal; siblings; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Winston Edie; parents, Byron and Myrtle Groesbeck; son-in-law, Brandon Whitehurst and dog grandson, Baxter Whitehurst.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 12:00 p.m. in the Downey Ward Relief Society Room. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Downey City Cemetery.
