James Dale McFarland of Lava Hot Springs
Born August 1, 1940; Died February 22, 2014
"Mac" has moved on to coach higher teams after his 36 years of teaching and coaching at Marsh Valley High School. He gave many of his students not only history lessons but also lifelong skills. Dale met a girl in 1961 who won his heart with conversation and laughter. He married Linda Kay Ashcraft on November 24, 1961 and they've been best friends in love and laughter for over 50 years. Dale had two sons that he spent hours imparting life's lessons to: Jeff (Matt) and Brad AKA Beaver (Julie). The highlight of his life came with the arrival of his grandchildren Amanda, Melinda, Jessica, and Bailey. Dale was a wonderful lovable "old cuss" befriended by many.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 26 at 12:00 noon in the Lava LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family this evening, (Tuesday February 25) at the LDS Ward Chapel or Wednesday prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:45. Burial will follow in the Lava Cemetery.
