Harold Nielsen was born November 3, 1927 in Malad, Idaho. He died September 5, 2013 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 85. He was born to James Peter and Olive Olson Nielsen. He married Darlene Priscilla Williams in the Logan LDS temple on July 21, 1947.

Harold grew up in Holbrook and Malad. He was a World War II veteran and homesteaded and farmed in Rupert, Malta, and Holbrook, Idaho. Harold and Darlene returned to live in Malad in 1984. Harold was proceeded in death by his parents Peter and Olive Nielsen, two brothers, Glenn and Albert, and a sister Verda Wadsworth.

Harold is survived by his wife Darlene, his 5 children: Sandra Dille (Larry), Tremonton, Utah; Linda Kitch (John), Tremonton, Utah; Glenna Nielsen-Grimn (Pete), Holiday, Utah; Peter J Nielsen (Coleen), Wallsburg, Utah; Darin W Nielsen (Teresa), Moorepark, California; and his sister sister Carolyn Neal, Malad, Idaho. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 11 step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W., Malad, Idaho Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 n., and again at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:30a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemtery.
