Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Greg C. Lamb, passed away on April 16, 2026, after a courageous and valiant battle with multiple myeloma. Greg was surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be in our hearts.

Greg was born August 5, 1953, to Clea Arlington Lamb and Lois Fern Starr Lamb. Being the youngest of three children, Greg grew up always protected and spoiled by an older brother (Jed) and an older sister (Reva).

He received his education at Bear River High School, graduating in 1971. He often said he was not sure who was happier to see him graduate – his mother or his teachers at Bear River High School.

Greg married Jean Andersen in 1971, and they became the proud parents of three children – Angie, Mindi, and Justin. They were later divorced.

In 1990, he married Vickie Servoss. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Four more children were added to his family – Clint, Jackie, Carlee and Mekelle. Together they built a life they loved. Then in 2009 Greg was diagnosed with cancer that took them down a road of many challenges and trials as they navigated the unknown path into the strange world of multiple myeloma. Throughout his cancer journey, Greg was lovingly cared for by his devoted wife who remained faithfully by his side and cared for him with love and compassion until the end of his mortal life.

At the age of ten, Greg learned the importance of work when his father unexpectedly passed away. With the help of several uncles, his brother, Jed, and his mother, they took over the operation of the family farm. Later Greg went to work for U&I Sugar, Morton Thiokol, and finally Nucor Steel where he worked for 30 years.

His entire life was defined in service. For many years he was an EMT for the Plymouth Ambulance and also a fireman for the Plymouth Fire Department. He also served on the Governor’s EMS board for the State of Utah. After moving to Malad, Greg once again served his community by becoming a member of the Oneida County Fair Board and a parent director for the Malad High School Rodeo Team. His service was not restricted to community organizations but was extended to all those that came in contact with him.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Greg served in various church leadership positions. He was the Elder’s Quorum President and was in the Bishopric in the Belmont 1st Ward. After moving to Malad, he served in the Malad 3rd Ward Bishopric and in the Young Men’s Presidency. His favorite calling was always a position where he worked with the youth. He loved the restored gospel, and his faith and testimony were felt by all those close to him.

Greg was devoted to those he loved, especially his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a devoted friend, and an amazing example of optimism, courage, and gratitude for his blessings and challenges, including his battle with cancer. Greg passed away just how he lived - with honor, integrity and courage.

Greg is survived by his wife, Vickie, and 6 children – Mindi Stokes, (Clay), Justin (Chelsea) Lamb, Clint (Amanda) Thomas, Jackie (Darren) Howe, Carlee (Nick) Marshall, and Mekelle (Jeff) Hollingsworth, a sister Reva Jensen and brother Jed (Paula) Lamb, nephews and nieces and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Lynn Peterson; daughter, Angie Newman; grandson, Kolton Lamb; father-in-law, Jack Servoss; step mother-in-law, Janice Servoss; mother-in-law, Connie Lewis; step-father-in-law, Ned Lewis, brother-in-law, Robert Sherman Jensen, niece, Cindy Jensen and a great granddaughter, Harper Remi Hadley.

Our hearts are literally broken, but we know he has gone home to be with all those familiar faces that love him too. While our family finds comfort that he is now at peace and out of pain, the weight of losing our beloved Pops is deeply felt by those close to him.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Mission Hospice, especially Debbie Howard and Dr.Teeples for their amazing care and tender service, as well as Horsley Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12 noon at Horsley Funeral Home. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
