Eleanor Arthel Williams Redington, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at the age of 95.
Eleanor was born on April 18, 1931, in Malad, Idaho, to John Haynes Williams and Eleanor Jones Williams. She loved growing up in Malad and graduated from Malad High School in 1949. After high school, she began working at the Malad Drug Store and later went to work for Ireland Bank.
On April 16, 1955, Eleanor married Albert Reid Redington. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple and shared 34 years together. They made their home in Pocatello, Idaho, where they raised their two daughters, Sue Mandler and Kathy Jones. Reid passed away in 1989.
Eleanor was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her career, Eleanor worked for First Security Bank and later for Idaho Bank and Trust. She enjoyed spending time with her family, embroidering, tending her flower gardens, quilting, and cooking. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Sue (Bill) Mandler and Kathy (Layne) Jones; seven grandchildren, Jenny (Josh) Miller, Chris (Jacque) Mandler, Nicole (Skyler) Campbell, Jordan (Erika) Cazeau, Alan (Katelyn) Cazeau, Kaylie (Andrew) Breen, and Justin (Samantha) Cazeau; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Horsley Funeral Home, located at 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Malad City Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Horsley Funeral Home in Malad.
