Dusty Dawn
Adams Smith
June 15, 1974 – April 25, 2026
Dusty Dawn Adams Smith, 51, passed away on April 25, 2026. She was born on June 15, 1974, in California and soon moved to Utah, where she was raised and built the foundation of her life.
While attending Cyprus High School, Dusty met her former husband while working together on the stage crew. The two married shortly after graduation and welcomed their daughter, Jessica Diane Smith Wyman. Though they later divorced, Dusty continued to grow her family, welcoming two more children, Dakota Micheal Smith and Jr Otto Sua.
In 2004, Dusty made her home in Malad, Idaho, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication, most recently serving as the transportation manager for Joanne’s Shuttle for the past several years.
Dusty was a deeply caring, selfless, and strong woman. Throughout her life, she faced many challenges and moments that were not easy, yet she always found a way to push through them with strength and determination. She had a unique ability to learn from those experiences, carrying forward wisdom and perspective that shaped who she became.
She was a devoted mother, a loyal and supportive sister, and a cherished friend to many. She had a rare gift for helping others, often going out of her way—even for strangers—without expecting anything in return. She stood firm in her beliefs and defended them with passion and strength.
Above all, Dusty had a special and unmistakable love for babies. She had a natural warmth that drew them to her, and she lit up whenever she was holding or caring for one. To her, babies were pure joy, and she treated each one with tenderness, patience, and genuine delight. Whether they were her own, her granddaughter, or someone else’s child, she loved them all as if they were her own. Becoming a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and though her time in that role was far too short, it was something she treasured deeply and embraced with her whole heart.
She is survived by her children, Jessica Diane Smith Wyman, Dakota Micheal Smith, and Jr Otto Sua; her beloved granddaughter, Violet Diane Jeanne Wyman; her mother, Susan Anthony; and her sisters, Pattie Dee Adams and Julia Dove Opheikens.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kathleen Diane Anthony Maestes; her grandfather, Robert Anthony; her father, Michael Dixon Adams; her cousin, Michael Roberts; her cousin’s daughter, Karma Maestes; and the fathers of her children, Chad Smith and Otto Sua.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
Dusty will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
