Douglas Ralph Cherry, 74, of Chubbuck, Idaho passed away April 15, 2022 at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.

Doug was born September 4, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Rawls Brooks Cherry and Erma Barnes Cherry.

He lived in Downey, Idaho until he was 10 years old and then he moved with his family to Pocatello, Idaho in 1957. He attended Downey Elementary, Irving Jr. High School and graduated from Highland High School.

In 1967, he married Julie Christensen and together they had a son Douglas Jr. They later divorced. He later married Rhonda Hawker, who helped him for many years with the operation of his business, Western Asphalt and Gravel Hauling, until they divorced. He continued running his business for 25 plus years.

At 70 years old his inner teenager came out and he bought a 1987 corvette. He was proud of this car and enjoyed cruising around in it. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, stock car races, gambling and family BBQ's and get togethers. Doug left a mark on this world. He knew many people and had many close friends.

He is survived by his son Doug Jr. His brother Dennis (Karen) Cherry, his sister Jeanette (Barney)Frey, several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother in-law.

There will be a graveside service at Downey Cemetery on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00a.m.
