Obituary

Connie Louise Moon Kelso,88, passed away peacefully from heart failure, Saturday, September 26, 2026, in West Sacramento, California.

Connie was born November 12,1937, in Malad Idaho, to Dale and Alta Moon. She was raised on a farm in Cherry Creek and graduated from Malad High School, Class of 1955.

At a very young age, Connie was diagnosed with osteomyelitis in her hip joint, a condition that shaped her life. By the age of 16, she had endured six surgeries and spent much of her school years in casts and crutches. She had several hip and knee surgeries throughout her adult life. Connie continued forward with determination and strength.

She married Joe Heath from Pocatello, Idaho. They later divorced. She was blessed with three beautiful children who survive her: Roshelle Mancha, West Sacramento CA, Joe Heath (Melody), Brentwood, CA, Sandra Burriss (Mike), Sacramento, CA. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, a brother Brent (Alicia) Moon, sisters Sharon Williams and Cindy Moon. She was preceded in death by her sister Dalene Bench. She married John Kelso and was later divorced.

Connie lived and worked in Sandy, Utah, for many years. She treasured her circle of friends as they attended activities together. She especially enjoyed the Hale Theater and going out to eat. She missed her friends dearly when she moved to California. Connie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her ward family in Sandy and attending the temple.

Connie will be missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for the love she shared, the friendships she treasured, and the lives she touched.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th, at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Horsley Funeral Home 132 West 300 North in Malad, Idaho.
