Obituary

Carol Maude Evans Gilgen Madsen was born April 3, 1930, in Malad, Idaho to
Eli and Ethel Thomas Evans. She had five sisters and one brother and was
raised in Malad where she received her education. She had been employed by
Brigham Apparel, South Floral and Stan's IGA.
On December 7, 1946 on a cold and snowy day she and Lynn K Gilgen were
married at the home of Sam and Irene Mansfield in Malad. To this union
were born three children; Lynn Ray, deceased; Judy Vaughan (Sherm),
McCammon, Idaho; and Brent Delon (Martha) of Boise, Idaho. She had eight
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several great-great
grandchildren.
She and Lynn farmed in the Daniels and Marsh Valley areas and later on
operated a contract mail carrier business between Malad and Downey. They
received recognition for 12 years of excellent service. Lynn passed away
February 14, 1997 at Malad. Carl married Dayle C. Madsen on July 5, 1998
and they enjoyed five years of traveling the western states and visiting
friends and family. Dayle passed away on Sept 30, 2003, after which Carol
moved to McCammon, Idaho to be near family. She enjoyed living there,
visiting friends, joining the Relief Society ladies and getting her hair
done at the local beauty shop. She enjoyed trips to town, shopping with
Judy and other family members. Family holiday dinners and birthday
celebrations were a favorite as well.
Carol passed away on Aug.30, 2015 in Pocatello, Idaho after an illness at
the age of 85. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Laura, Cleo,
