Martha Jones

Martha Faye Jenson Williams Jones, 93, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at the home of her son Joe and with family at her side. Faye was born Jan. 25, 1919 to Mary Leatham and Elmo Carlos Jenson in Malad, Idaho. She spent her early school years in the Pocatello Valley and graduated from Malad High School in 1936. She received a teaching certificate from Albion State, Idaho in 1940 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts from Idaho State University in 1952. Faye married Joseph Leigh Williams in 1941 and they had 2 sons, James Cheryl Williams, who died in infancy, and Joe L Williams. Joseph passed away in 1946 and Faye later married Owen L. Jones in 1959. Owen passed away in 1964 and is survived by his son Tarrel C. Jones. Faye will join her 10 brothers and sisters who preceded her, Elmo, Helen, Leatham, Keith, Lorraine, June, LeRoy, James, Ivy and Sylvia Jenson. Faye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was a long time supporter of the missionary program and contributor to the Genealogical Library. She taught her love of art, history and language to generations of students at schools in Downey, Idaho, Coolidge, Arizona and Malad, Idaho. She also won a number of conservation awards as a farmer and rancher in Elkhorn, Idaho. Faye is survived by her son Joe L Williams, his wife Deanna Peterson Williams, her grandchildren Sheri Lee Williams and James Edward Williams and great grandchildren Torista Lynn Williams and Kelly James Williams. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 5th Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 7:00-8:00p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., and again on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:30-11:30a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Horsley Funeral Home.
